Hi, I’m Jianing (April) Yuan—an interactive experience and UI/UX designer who thrives on challenges and embraces the unexpected. Born and raised in Qingdao, China, I’ve lived and learned across continents, from Iowa City in the USA to Sydney, Australia, where I’m currently shaping my design journey.
My path has been anything but ordinary. With a background in Communication Studies and Photography from the University of Iowa, I pivoted into interaction design, blending my love for storytelling and visuals with a passion for creating intuitive digital experiences.
I’m inspired by extremes—from east to west, where diverse cultures collide and inspire creativity, to cold Midwest winters and warm Australian summers, from scratch to polished solutions. Whether designing for users or navigating life’s contrasts, I handle challenges with curiosity and resilience.
